What is Stork Advisor®?

Stork Advisor® was created to help prospective parents Before, During, and After their pregnancy through many specific features provided in the StorkAdvisor® app (available in Google Play or the App Store) and website (StorkAdvisor.com).

    My Story is a private social media feed within the app which allows the pregnant user to share important or intimate milestones, photos, and videos with her invited family and friends. Her My Story community will be able to add comments and encouragement. This feature allows her to stay connected with loved ones despite distance or circumstances.

  • Daily Tips

    The Stork Advisor® app sends a daily notification to the user on her mobile device. These Daily Tips are designed for her specific time of pregnancy with helpful information on nutrition, wellbeing, and development.

  • Stork Alert

    The Stork Advisor® app has a useful feature known as the Stork Alert. The Stork Alert button in the app allows a user to send a specific message to all of her chosen inner circle (Stork Alert Family) with a single touch. Frequently, When time counts, they can receive a text message with important information as “Baby on the way,” or “Baby has arrived.” There is an option to create your own message.

  • Birth Facility Information and Location

    The app allows the user to select her birth facility of choice. The app contains helpful information as phone number, web address and location. The user may enable the GPS location service to provide directions to her chosen birth facility since timing and location of the user is unpredictable when she is in need.

  • Stork Ratings and Reviews

    Find out what others have said about their birth experience.

After Pregnancy

Stork Advisor® desires to make a difference in the postpartum health of women and their babies. We offer helpful information concerning breastfeeding and postpartum wellbeing of women.

Note that Stork Advisor® is not affiliated with any hospital or birth center. Stork Advisor® does not provide diagnosis or recommend definitive treatment for pregnancy conditions.

I am new to the Stork Advisor® app. How do I get started?

If you want to take advantage of all of the Stork Advisor® features, you can create a user account by logging in on the app or website. A simple profile is generated to keep you informed and connected.

Do I have to create an account to use Stork Advisor®?

Stork Advisor® content as Go-To Topics and Stork Mama blogs are available to anyone without creation of an account. You may also find information about Birth Facilities. Other helpful features in the app require the creation of a user profile to enable functionality.

Do I have to be pregnant to use Stork Advisor®?

Stork Advisor® is designed for users before, during and after pregnancy. The website and app may be of interest to supportive family and friends.

Does Stork Advisor® provide medical care?

Stork Advisor® does not provide medical or health care. We cannot diagnose or treat medical conditions before, during or after pregnancy. This platform offers general information that may help the user at whatever stage of life they might be. Concerning symptoms or problems should be evaluated by the user’s personal healthcare provider or specialist.

Can I delete my account?

Go to the settings icon. You will find the “delete account” option.

Why should I allow Stork Advisor® to know my location?

When you allow the location feature of the app, you will be able to find the closest childbirth hospitals or birth centers to your position. A pregnant woman cannot predict the time or place she will be when labor begins. She might be in an unfamiliar area where she does not know how to reach the selected hospital. The enabled location feature of Stork Advisor® allows the user to get directions to the facility of choice from any place she may be.

My Story

What is My Story?

My Story is a private social media feed within the Stork Advisor® app for registered users. The expectant mom may document her pregnancy journey with details, her feelings, and her hopes. The mom may invite specific people to join her in this private interaction within the app. Select My Story from the menu on the home page or from the “hamburger” menu” at the top of the page within the app. You will see Stories I Follow at the top of the screen. Invite Your Friends is found at the bottom of the screen so that you can import the people who you desire to invite from your device contacts. It is also possible to remove the contact from sharing in your My Story feed by selection of the unfriend option by their Information.

Then, the expectant mom creates a private group of family and friends known as her “Stork Community.” Anyone who accepts her invitation will be able to read and add posts. Comments and photos may be posted between this inner circle as the expectant mom’s pregnancy story unfolds. When the baby is born, a printed copy of the user’s My Story can be purchased .

How do I start My Story and create posts?

Register as a Stork Advisor® user app. Select the My Story icon on the main menu page of the app. The next screen demonstrates the previous posts of everyone. Add a post by selecting the text box just underneath the Stork Advisor® logo. The next screen allows you to add written text and upload photos to the My Story feed. When you have finished, select the Post button at the upper right of the screen. Your post will quickly appear.

How do I invite specific loved ones to share in My Story?

Select the My Story option, either from the home page or the hamburger menu. The top of the screen will be Stories I Follow. The bottom of the screen will provide the option Invite Your Friends. Next, you may import from your contacts all that you desire to invite to your own Stork Community. Stork Community is your invitation-only group that has access to your My Story pregnancy journal.

Do I have to be pregnant create My Story?

The majority of My Story journeys are for expectant moms. However, there may be special situations in which the expectant father, grandparent or other loved one would like to create their part of the pregnancy in My Story.

What are the daily tips?

Stork Advisor® provides informative tips which can be quickly read by registered users. A concise message containing information about a variety of pregnancy topics as nutrition, pregnancy milestones, exercise and encouragement will be sent as a daily notification. If the user registers a due date for the baby, these notifications will approximately correspond to the time of pregnancy. All of the current and previous tips can be found in the app.

How can I stop the daily tips?

Find the Profile area in the app menu. There is a toggle to “Enable Daily Tips with the option to select “Yes” or “No.”

What other Stork Advisor® resources are available?

Stork Rating and Reviews

What is a Stork Rating?

Stork Ratings apply to the childbirth services at a specific hospital or birth center. The best birth experience is indicated by 5 Storks. The worst performance is demonstrated with 0 Storks. They are created by user response from 5 survey questions after their baby is born. Stork Ratings are not influenced or purchased by the hospital or birth center.

A Stork Rating may be submitted after childbirth by locating the hospital or birth center page in the Birth Facilities section of the app. Any previously submitted Stork Rating is on the left side of the screen. Select the “Add Rating” on the right side of the screen to reach the next screen with the survey of 5 questions. Swipe your finger from left ot right to add the number of Storks that represent your birth experience in this specific area.

What is a Stork Review?

Stork Reviews are subjective reviews of users’ birth experience at a specific hospital or birth center. They may include text or photos provided by the user. The reviews are intended to provide helpful and positive information for others who may choose to have their baby at that birth facility.

The reviews represent the opinions of the users and do not represent the opinion of Stork Advisor®. Users are not solicited or compensated for their reviews. Submitted reviews may not contain inappropriate content such as profanity, defamatory remarks about individuals, or vulgar photos.

How can I create a Stork Review for the birth facility where I had my baby?

Locate the specific facility page within the Birth Facility section of the app. Select “Reviews” which will take you to the next page where comments and photos can be uploaded to the Stork Advisor® app or website. Then, your review is found under the hospital or birth center. Your Stork Review will help other expectant parents with their future childbirth experience.

Can I rate or review more than one birthing center or hospital?

Only one Stork Rating and/or Stork Review is accepted from a user within 6 months. The rating or review may be of a different facility at that time.

I recently had my baby and just learned about Stork Advisor®. Can I leave a Stork Rating and Review to help other expectant families?

If your birth experience was at one of the hospitals or facilities within the website database, you are able to leave a Stork Rating/Review about your recent birth experience.

Stork Alert

What is a Stork Alert?

When a baby is on the way, the expectant parents are so occupied with the labor and delivery process, that they cannot keep up or inform concerned family or friends. A Stork Alert is a brief text message which can update your loved ones about any important childbirth events. When you touch the round Stork Alert button, there are two standard messages as “Baby on the way!” or “Baby has arrived!” Selection of either message will send the information.

Can I create my own Stork Alert?

After you to touch the round Stork Alert button, you can create a customized text message when you select “Custom.” Then, type in your specific text message for your loved ones and press “SEND.”

How can I create my Stork Alert contact list?

Go to the Stork Alert page in the app. Select “IMPORT FROM DEVICE” at the bottom of the screen. Then, choose the people Who you want to include in this inner circle. Most users have a smaller inner circle of family or friends that they want to know real time updates. Therefore, Stork Advisor® has designed an option to create a Stork Alert Family group of contacts.

Can I add someone to my Stork Alert Family contact list that is not in my phone contact list?

The easiest way is to add the new contact into your phone contacts list. Then, you can assign them to your chosen group.

How can I provide more information on my birth experience in addition to the Stork rating?

The Stork Advisor® app will be adding improvements in website/app functionality that will allow families to share more details about their birth experience. More information will help more families know what to expect when expecting.

Can I use the Stork Advisor® app on my watch?

Future versions of the Stork Advisor® app may include other devices. At this time, the best app experience will be on your smart phone.
